why isn't my anemone splitting

I have read of this happening. Its not "wrong" as I understand it, just that they didn't finish. If you have the nerve, you can cut them apart with a razor blade. Our reef club routinely cuts anemones in half. But your water quality needs to be real good.
Otherwise, try feeding it everyday, and do some water changes.

Kevin, how successful was your method of cutting the anemones in half at producing to thriving anemones (what kind of percentages lived and propered do you think)?
How is it performed? Just take the razor and cut it right down the middle? Do you cut it completely in half? I would like to try this method of propagation. When you mentioned water quality, what factors contribute most to success in this method?

they stranges thing happened today. i was waking up the splitting side of the anemone was stuck in the powerhead 
while the othe side was stuck on the glass. well i stopped the powerhead and let it come out for itself.
come home today and they have split one being the original looks fine the other had a few chunks of meat missing but is holding on to the rock it is on? what should i do? should i take it out or will it make it. it looks bad but i don;t wanna kill something that might survive. i keep my water pretty clean and use ro and change water 5 percent every other day.
