Why no plants?

Why have I never seen anything green for saltwater tanks? Except for Chaeto , Mangroves and Caulpera I've never seen any for sale in any LFS I have ever visited.

Just wondering.

I use to see some things called finger trees. They were like small evergreens. I think I got them off of "œliveaquaria"

Marine macro algae doesn't behave the same way plants do is the main reason why. They're too invasive and impossible to control in a display setting. And many reproduce sexually which can crash a tank

never knew something like this could be done with saltwater systems.
i switched from fresh water to salt. and the biggest thing i miss about fresh water is their plants.

As stated some macroalgaes can be quite invasive.. Others though are great for "display" and stay quite compact and easy to manage/grow slow,etc...
