why not tank raised?

Tank Raised seahorses are raised in net-pens overseas in the ocean. They are exposed to the same pathogens and parasites that wild caught seahorses are. Thus, they should be treated the same as wild caught seahorses. Meaning, dewormed and watched carefully in QT for 4-6 weeks.

IMO, the only advantage to tank raised over wild caught is tank raised are eating frozen foods. Other than that, they are the same.

Captive Bred seahorses have never been exposed to the dangers ocean water can carry. They have not been exposed to parasites, etc.

It seems in some circumstances that TR can be worse then WC. The large volume of seahorses in a small confined area can be a breeding ground for many things, keeping those populations at higher numbers then they are in the wild.

Just an observation.
