Why Was The Thread Close?

i just finished reading 4 pages of a thread about an ebay seller that from my own conclusion was doing some improper selling tactics. the thread was closed. my question is why?

i've been in this hobby for just under a year and this is the type of thing that i as a conservator of the worlds oceans would like to know. i know that i've spent in the last year (when i first started) hundreds it not thousands of dollars in things that i should have or would have loved to have known the information that was and is on that thread.

now it's just my view but as a site that is mostlikely the leader in the entire country when it comes to this hobby. i kind of feel that the closing of the thread should not have occurred. if the ebay seller is do the things that they were accused of doing we as a community should try to stop it or at the very least make it an "ALERT". if someone were to purchase this and then find out later that it was not what they thought it could very well discourage people from joining this AWESOME hobby. please as a request don't close the thread or please allow another one to exist. i for one would like more information from the people that have experience with this vendor.

Honestly, the thread ended right where it should have. The point was clearly made and the incident is documented. It could continue on and on, but then the LPS Keepers forum would become the Vendor Complaint forum. Warnings are good, but disputes and arguments need to be in a separate forum or even a separate web site.

It was closed because it strayed from the point of the LPS forum and the point was made. Don't worry, there will be another thread in not too long in the vendor experiences forum. That one should be a riot. I'll link to it on this thread when it happens since there seem to be so many people passionate about the subject, until then let's leave the LPS forum to the LPS. :)

May be a couple months before the other thread is formed.

right on guys i for one thought we were starting to get away from the point myself..but trust me i am sure there will be more and more threads about this...like ryan said i can't wait to see that it really should be a fun one to see what has been said

i for really enjoyed the thread. both on a personal level and the other on a moral level. it is amazing to me that someone could be so brash as to knowingly lie about something only to sell it, and also admitting to it but not seeing the fault in it.

i also have to thank you guys. for the last three or four months i've been looking on ebay at many of the corals that are listed. after reading the thread i went back to "my ebay" and looked to see which one of the corals that i have marked as "watch items" and what i came back with is that all the corals that i was interested in came from the two (or really one) companies at hand, except for one of the corals. this not only saved me money but (mostlikely 500-800 dollars not including shipping) the head ache which i value even more than money.

thank you guys for the post and the input on that thread.
