and biger too man lol ilke when people come to my home and when they come in they go wooooooooo:eek1:

I dont know why i like it.....

REally I shouldnt.....lol but im an addict.

It sucks out my money, it can get messy, and takes alot of time to maintain....

JUST LIKE MY WIFE....BUT I LOVE HER TOO:rollface:

Hmm...I like it partly because it's like Dean said; challenging. And because I can replicate (to a certain degrees) a small part of the nature. Also, I love the satisfaction when corals and fishes grow in my tank. It makes me think I am doing something right. :)

I got in to it b/c it was the only pet I could have in my appt! now a year and a half later I am addicted!! I LOVE IT! I love laying in bed at night and watching the tank! Its so relaxing to have my own little piece of the ocean....The only time I ask myself this question is when the stupid hurricanes hit...or I look at my bank statment for the month! hehe

Cause it's relaxing ...plus it's cool to have people come over and be like " Wow...that's alive ?? "

Now that i think about it, i take back the relaxing part...hahhaha

Its just amazing to me to have a piece of the ocean living in my house. Its relaxing to look at, and its a thrill to buy new things and watch them grow... plus the compliments. A little of everything that everyone mentioned above.:bum:

no mater how many tings we all say i tink we have the same filling for this hobby we all love this hobby no mater how many times we crash and trash the tanks we go by a store just to look and we come out with somting new

I enjoy the fact that the tank is an ever changing/developing system & that there is always something to tinker with or upgrade. It can truely be a life long hobby, that I think just becomes more rewarding,as time passes.

Because it drives us crazy, it takes our entire paychecks, we cannot deny the everlasting challenge... but at the end of the day just looking at it relaxes us like nothing else, just admiring the beauty and growth of our corals and fish sitting in a glass box, in our house - its just amazing... I don't think any other hobby can touch this.

I'll agree, in the past week I have made OVER $1500 and although most of it will be paying credit cards... the rest of it will be going to my tank, after all I do deserve it. I'm a hard worker! ;)

Yay, I made more then enough money, now I can order up my AC Jr.!!!

On a day when people have been sucky and the traffic has you ready to kill, you can sit down with your tank and the bev of your choice and fall into a world of 10,000 little interactions, changes, and small thought exercises that occupy all the brain's circuits. The fractal sound, like a good fireplace, creates a cyclic repetition that just gently rocks the brain like a baby in a cradle.
And there's always the anticipation, the chance that fish you bought last week might put in an appearance, or that your clown might start courting your anemone.

I think that it is the fact that we are entrusted with the care of a world, that we created of living things. We make all the decisions as to what corals, fish, plants we will use. Some of this corals come from thousands of miles away, and might not even be living in the wild any more, due to the bleaching of corals from the temperature changes we have had in the last few years. That frag that some one gave you, or you bought started out as one or two polyps, and now after a few months you can pass it on to some one else. Every day there are changes in the tank that you get to see first hand. When you are some what done with adding corals, or fish you created a thing of beauty that is living and growing every day. So with that said keep trading them frags.

im into this hobby because to me its simply underwater gardening and i already like plants. this is simply an extension of what i already like.

Well I got into it cause I loved SCUBA diving and thought this was safer....lol.
I am amazed how people are not aware of all the beautiful colors that are present underwater. They always ask are those real? Friends and family love the tank, it relaxes me, and like previously stated, its an everchanging enviroment.
