why won't my clowns play in there nem?

Sorry i only read a couple threads of people doing it with nothing but success... ill try to dig them up, but my thing is, what do you have to lose by trying?

has anyone tried putting a laptop next to the tank with a video on loop of clowns being hosted by a nem?

I honestly doubt the clownfish are going to watch and mimic from a video off youtube. This is thousands and thousands of years of evolution that drives these clownfish to take to their specific anemones. Manipulating clownfish to be hosted by a non-natural anemone all comes down to the clownfish. Some will be hosted, others will not. Some
Ocellaris prefer the top corners of the tank rather then the BTA.

I think the people that have posted pictures of clownfish being hosted by an anemone just happened to be a coincidence, not actually the reason why the clownfish took residence in that anemone. Even if there is some truth to the picture method, good luck on proving it.

I have no idea whether a fish's eye can even perceive two-dimensional images in the way that would be necessary for the picture trick to work.

I took my clowns 6 months, they showed no interest, one day i came home and they were in it! just like that.
