why won't my nanocube light work?

OK so my nanocube has had nothing in it for a while but used to have corals, its the original 24W one. But then I went to plug the light in today and it won't work. I tried rewiring the ballast and it will turn on but shut of really fast. Is this the ballast??? maybe the moisture

lol ok get this one in your head, the bulb turns on then off when I do the same thing, but when it is unplugged any ideas?
