Why won't my RBTA eat?

I have had my rbta for about a week. It settled in ok, but hasn't had a feed response. Today it moved quite a ways into the shade and then shrunk to nothing. It has partially reinflated but still would not accept food. Is this normal and what can I do to make it more comfortable?

What size tank?
How long has it been set up?
What are you current water parameters? (( with numbers ))

Now, more importantly, what lights do you have? Do you know what lights it was under? Did you acclimate it to your lights?

thanks for not getting tired of asking the same questions to us new guys in the anenome care! I did my homework, and looked in the FAQ section so you wouldn't worry about me too! je je. MY BTA is still doing good after 3 months by the way, all thanks to guys like you.(sorry for stealing the thread)

How did you acclimate it to your lights?

If you have had it for only a week you should still be acclimating it to your lights. It seems that there was a big jump in the amount of light.

For that much of an increase I use 3 layers of window screening, and remove a layer every 5-7 days.

hmm Just put the flourescents on and then increased mh by abit every day. Never heard of the screen thing, neat idea. It is looking not too bad under the rock. Should I try offering it food every day, or just leave it alone?

I used to try slowly increasing the photo-period of my MH's, but still had issues, so I went with the screening method, and has always worked for me.

You can use egg create to support the window screening, and you existing corals/inverts won't be effected.

It will look something like this,

flow about 30X, reciently upgraded seems like alot but I can only compare with before, my clowns are fighting the current all the time lol. My rbta is still under the rock and has shrunk and inflated a few times. I would like to try to feed it but it is inaccessible . . .

Can you not get to it at all? When you could how was its tentical respone?

Did food stick to it?
