hey at this little man made river conttected to the ocean under the briges i found a huge colonies of anemones and other corals is it safe to put in my tank?:celeb3:

Whenever you take something from the ocean, you run the risk of getting a disease or pest along with the good stuff. Aside from that, it would depend on what you were adding to your tank that would decide if it was safe or not. There are tons of things that are not "reef safe" that you will still find on a reef. And last, the corals and nems you find in the US waters don't always do well in tropical water tanks, which most saltwater tanks are.

So in short, it's possible that it could be safe, but there are only a few cases where it WILL be safe. :)

Most of the critters off our coast need lower temps (less than 70 degrees) to survive long term.

They will survive for a while (maybe a year) if their other needs are met, but unless you want to refrigerate your tank, the animals are better off where they are.

thanks for the help guys i think ill leave them be i dont want to remove them and have disease or pest but they are really pretty though ill take pictures of them for you guys later
