I just had to post a pic of this little guy. I just got it a few days ago.

From my iPhone, it look like it has bulbous, rounded tips. The echinata I have seen time and again have even elongated cylindrical coralites with sharp tips that do not get fatter.

I hear what your saying, I have a Hawkins. But I got this from a very reputable source.

Any other guess at it's ID?

Hard to say, but the bottom left coralite resembles an echinata.

Great find and purchase though!

Actually when I look at it, it has smooth elongated cylindrical coralites. Didn't photgraph well I guess.

srry link doesnt work, but your pic does look like it could be A. Echinata, i had a piece of ice fire that looks the exact same when i first got it. very intense colors though hope it grows well for you
