I got wild corals gowing out of my rocks. Some of the wild corals seem to be stunting the growth of my corals. Are they harmful and how can I control them? What about it Rug Dog.?:strooper:

These are the one I really have problem with.

They look like aiptasia to me. You can try injecting it with hot water or lemon juice. You can also take the rock out and pour boiling water on it. Dropping some kalkwasser (pickling lime) paste or Joe's juice on them worked for some people.

any time you use something designed to kill off something in your main tank, look carefully at the possibility it may affect other desired species of similar structure and habit. Most corals are structurally similar to aiptasia. How does this treatment discriminate to target only aiptasia?

This is Joe's Juice from Marine Depot. I'm going to order some this week end. Thank you very much, now my wife want be trying to pluck them with her twezzers!!

boiling water and a syringe works very well. My husband has kill tons of them. You just hit with the hot water when they are out. They will melt away. A peppermint shrimp will also eat them.

Monica. I'm going to try the hot water, should I use a turkey Baster. My wife will have fun getting rid of these!:bum:

A small syringe will work better. It doesn't take much hot water to kill them and you need to get it right on them but do not touch them because they will go back into the rock.
