Wild pieces and coloration in tank

I wanted to get individuals opinions. I've been in the hobby for over 10+ years and I have noticed along with individuals I know that some pieces of wild SPS keep its color while others brown out but re-gain its color after 1-2 months. This just happened with an australian frag I got allowing me to ask this question that I always to keep forgeting to ask.

**I understand corals are from diffrent parts of the ocean and parameters and amount of sun plays a role. Just want to get your experience when you bring in a piece into your tank**

What exactly is the question?

Questions is: do any wild sps frag/colony always keep their color when acclimated to a hobbyists tank? For me hits hit and miss. But if the piece browns out it regains it's color 1-2 months later. I want to see others experience.

Mines usually take up another shade of that color. If it was green it turns light green or neon green. There're too many factors that are involved to really know but as far as color most sps frags I get either wild or captive all seem to take up a different color in my tank.

Most people have the opposite effect. The wild corals always brown out and the aquaculture corals keep there color. For me it's about the same, wild corals do fine in my system.
