Will a Filter Sock help with my plaguing issue?

I recently added a Diamond Goby to help clean the sand bed. I started feeding Mysis a few months back and Ive also started with Coral. In the last two months Ive also added a NextReef MR1 Reactor with ROWAphos. In these last two months while dosing for KH, Calc, and MG, I test the water periodically and the parameters are right on target, the only issue I have is the sandbed is dirty to the visual and there are areas where there is a sediment on top of the sand bed. Water changes help a bit but its still been an issue, and so I bought a Diamond Goby a few days ago.

The good news is he has been helping, doing an excellent job sifting through my 100 gallon tank and the sand looks great. BAD news is that layer of sediment that was on top of the sand (and probabally in the sand) has been stirred up and is now laying all over my rocks, on the glass, on the overflow box, powerheads, and pretty much anything it can stick to. I've been emptying the Protein skimmer collection cup frequently, but I have some concerns. 1) will the sediment eventually be picked up through the skimmer and 2) is it causing any immediate concerns with quality other than the looks of ugly rocks covered in this crap?

I havent had a chance to test the water so I know thats the first thing Ill do today, but I was thinking a filter sock will also help. Also, how can I clean this crap off of everything? I put my scraper in the tank and waved it back and forth to create some strong current waves and it did lift majority of it off the rocks, but its now a bit stuck to certain things including the rocks and I assume ill need to wipe it with something to be picked up from the filtration.

I just switched to a filter sock and yes it does help. I think you hit the nail on the head when you tried to fan it off your rocks...add more circulation to you tank so the debris stays suspended until it gets to your filter system. Also, be careful not to disturb too much of your deep sand bed.

Ok great, I was hoping my idea would be helpful. I just hope that debris did or does not impact my corals and fish health. That Diamond Goby is sure puttin' in work! HEHE

I like the other kind of goby that eats the sand and spits right back out I was happy when my Diamond Goby died, he just rain down sand on all of my corals.

Filter sock did it! Already see a huge improvement. My LFS said it will take a few weeks, but with the sock and the Goby, I should see great sand quality in a bit.
