Will a flasher wrasse compete with my mandarin??

I want to get a mandarin. I also love wrasses but I didn't want to get one because they would compete with the mandarin for pods. I have a 120 with a 15 gallon refugium with liverock and caulerpa.

I see that flasher wrasses typically eat plankton out of the water column. So...does that mean that these guys won't compete for pods?

Thanks

i think youd be alright, competition wise. Flashers wont usually pick at the substrate, as you mentioned. Try to elicit your mandarin (or prospective mandarin) to take prepared diets though.

I agree with jmaneyapanda - it should not compete with the mandarin.

Edit - oops old thread - misread the date
