Will a Halichoeres wrasse eat my clams?

Needed to get a few of these fish and wanted to know if they would kill my clams

It really depends on the individual fish. I had to remove my melanurus wrasse a few days ago because he was picking on my two Tahitian maximas.

That's a big family. Think you need to narrow it down. In some cases they will actually save a clam by eating pyramid snails which prey on them.

My melanarus picked at clams also.

My iridis is fine with my 2 clams.

That said, something unknown did attack my 3rd very small clam.
Happened at night, I think, suspect it was a big crab that I subsequently caught.
