Will a pagoda re grow over its dead skeleton?

My pagoda cup fell upside down ontop of zoas. I thought it killed the whole coral so i threw it in a tank with no lights. It stayed there a month and i was digging in my 'frag' tank and found it still had some polyps on it.

Pulled it back out and put it back into the main tank. It is like a 6" skeleton with six of the flower things that come out. There is about a 1/4 inch wide strip of the skin going from flower to flower.

Will it regrow on to the dead skeleton? I don't think i could frag it so small. The part that is still alive is doing wonderful and the tentacle things come out bigger and prettier than ever before.

Thanks in advance for any help!

frag it

frag it

It wondt grow over the dead skeleton. I would frag it where it is still alive and put it in your tank. It will grow from there.

I don't know . I have had bald patches eventually recover and become whole again. Also i had mounted one of my cups to a rock with putty and the the skin has totally encrusted over the putt and a lot of the rock!

It will recover and spread back over the old skeleton. Feed it and you will be amazed how fast it grows. Speaking from experience.

Here it is. The piece of skin that is left connects all 5 of these flowers, but it is so skinny you cant see it until the flowers close up. The are coming out more than they did when i first put it back in my tank though, so hopefully they will recover like others have.
