Will be in the NW burbs soon.....where to visit?

I will be in the NW area (Lake Zurich) soon and was wondering where i should go to get some good coral. I've been to aquarium adventure in Hoffman Estates and some other places to. But i was looking to get some good colorful LPS or softies for a good price (student budget) I don't wanna go too far (south side) or anything...so where should i go?

Let's see, the following great LFS are within a thirty minute drive for you from Lake Zurich.....

Coral Paradise - Arlington Heights
Oceans Floor - Lake in the Hills
Sea Schor - Buffalo Grove
Sharky's Reef - Grayslake (new store)
ShoTank - Mundelein

I'll let the local reefers tell you which are their favorites and why.... If you were willing to drive a little farther, Rod's Reef is in DeKalb and is a must see for lots of out of town visitors.

Looks like i will be venturing to Coral Paradise in Arlington Heights and Sea Schor in Buffalo Grove.....they have any good prices? or should i look else where?

It has a pretty decent amount of shops.

Depending what day you head out to some stores, I might be able to meet you there with a buddy of mine.

I've been to all of the stores mentioned here. If you're into SPS or LPS, I don't think there's anything close to Ocean's Floor in Lake in the Hills.

I live in LZ, make sure you stop at Sharkey's Reef while here...they are only 15min (in Grayslake) from LZ.
