Will clown host in frogspawn

My maroon clown won't leave about 6 of my frogspawn alone. It nests so continuously that the frogspawns are harrassed and shrink. I think this has supressed growth of the frogspawn but they seem to be healthy otherwise. The nesting does knock them over occasionally. The plus is that the frogspawn is easy to keep and doesn't move around the tank stinging other corals as an anemone may.

which type of clown is a better question? I have two ocellaris and they won't even go near the three forgspawn I have or the rbta.

They'll host whatever they want to host and will likely switch up several times over their life time. Mine hosted my frogspawn originally and then moved to my kenya garden, and are now in my torch coral.

Who knows where they'll be tomorrow.

Mine are oscellaris and I've had them about 2 years.

one of our friends had a maroon for years that LOVED his frogspawn... it did seem to sting her tho because she go a scar on the bottom of her stomach

oh and I have another friend who has a pair of true percs that constatly switch between his frogspawn and hammer...

I have a wild caught true percula clown that first hosted in a very small hammer that I had, and then moved to a larger frogspawn that I added later on, and then I got a Sabae Anemone, and he hosted in that almost immediately. I added a tank raised percula (or ocellaris? LFS said it was a true percula but it looked like a ocellaris to me). This clown wouldn't host in ANYTHING. He disappeared one day, and I added another true percula, and this one immediately hosted in a large hammer that I have. Hasn't even glanced at the Sabae Anemone. So they're all different! :)

I have a true perc in my aquapod that hosts a brain coral! lol and every once in a while I catch him in the frogspawn...

But I know a guy with a basketball sized frogspawn and his percs live in there...

So I guess to answer your question, yes they will. Only con is that it could potentially irritate the frogspawn or damage it as they are not quite as rugged as an anemone...

my occerais have been hosting my frogspawn for almost a year now. There are three frogspawns in the tank and they use them all.
