Im getting ready to set up a 12 jbj nano tank and i was wandering if they would host anything else besides anemones? Something that is more suitable for the nano life. and what type of clowns would be good for that as well?

Mine seem to like the corner where my preskimmer box, heater, and a powerhead all come together! At least thats their prefered place to sleep.

But, yeah they'll host in things other than anemonae. I've heard of people having success with clowns hosting in frogspawn, hammer corals, and torch corals to name a few. I have a frogspawn (and other corals) and my clowns totally ignore all of them and just swim around the water column.

My clowns love their hairy mushrooms

My tomatoe clowns hosted in my xenia and in my toadstools. Clowns sometimes do this, it may take a while but it does happen.

I saw a Maroon hosting a feather duster at my lfs. My percs host a MJ1200... In short they'll host darn near anything.. The trick is getting them to host what YOU want :)

My 2 Clarkii clowns decided to make a home in my $150 Elegant Coral. They were happy but killed the Elegant Coral within days. I wasn't able to save it even in a hospital tank. :(

My Maroon is in hairy mushrooms, that is after she killed all my other corals. She loved them to death. My percs, don't host anything.
