Will freshwater kill ich? Got a sailfin thats covered with spots.. Seems to be only on the scaleless fish.
I know it will kill all my beneficial bacteria but my tank is new and I have ich and aiptasia popping up all over. I want to start my tank over from scratch.. Don't want to start a new tank with pest and parasites...This is really ****ing me off.
Whats the best route to take?
Any thoughts would be appreciated....thx

Hyposalinity will kill ich... 0.008-0.009 is where you want your sg. Since your tank is new, it is probably the best route to take.

Edit: You will need to keep it low for at least 4 weeks. Then slowly raise it back up at a rate no faster than 0.003 sg per day.

SW Fish can stay in 0.008 for 4 weeks? Is it 1.008 or 0.008?

BTW, the white ich capsules (spots) on your fish are protected from most everything. It is only when they become free swimming that they are vulnerable.
