I have my fish in the quarantine tank now for over a week as I had to break up my old system and it seems they are getting enough of it.
Today found a clown with his caudal (tail) fin bitten short and his anal fin completely bitten of.
Removed him and put him in the DT (which I was hoping not to put anything for at least one more week)
now a few hours back another clown with his tail fin bitten so put that one also in the DT???
Not too sure about the survival chances of the first one as he seem to be struggling floating upwards tail first. might die of pure exhaustion at a point I think?
Should I leave him or be the executioner and get him out and terminate quickly?.
What would a death fish now do to my not fully cycled tank?
Though all levels are not that high?
Please advise??

Oh yes I have (had) 11 clowns 2 blue tangs and a Goby

No idea how big your tanks are, how long the DT has been cycling for etc.

But if I read that right.. 11 clowns? That might be the problem. Typically 1 or 2 max per tank. You may be able to get away with a couple more on a very short basis. Unless they are a related babies/juvelines they'll end up killing each other off until two few remain and become a pair.

Also having two tangs of the same type (appearance), and/or species, can also lead to aggressive behavior in closed systems.

Unless your tank is very very large, you may want to keep 2 clowns and sell/trade the rest for something else. Same with the tang. Keep one and get another tang of a different type. That will increase the survival odds and you will also end up with more diversity.

That many clowns in a tank they will eventually eliminate one another and what is the size of the tank?
