Will I ever see my little wrasse again?

So, I sold my melanarus wrasse to a friend, with the intent of trying a yellow coris wrasse. I've always wanted one. A local store had a nice looking specimen, but it was pretty little. Maybe 1.0 to 1.5 inches. I was most worried about my candy-cane hog; he never bothered my melanarus, but did NOT like a fourline wrasse I tried to add a few months before (I was able to remove the fourline and return to the LFS).

So when I added the little yellow, I was pleased to see the hog ignoring him. And then my female perc clown got after it. She actually had the wrasse in her mouth a few times; it was able to get out after a second or two.

I couldn't make out where the wrasse went, but I presume he's under the sand. I know yellow wrasses will hide for a few days when new to a tank. Especially given his intro to the tank, I imagine he'll be there for a while. Any chance I'll see him again? Have any of you had a wrasse hide after being pestered and come back?

Mine hid on the first day and came out. No one harass him though. He actually try to get food from my 6 lines. They are about the same size.

I have them hid for over two weeks. Thought it had become crab food and than there it was. Usually they dive straight to the rocks when first introduced. If yours was being bullied it sounds like he did not go into hiding. Give it some time. I hope he shows up.

I have a Christmas wrasse, peacock wrasse and silver belly wrasse is my tank... Christmas was the first one... When i introduced the silver belly the Christmas harassed him and he then dived into the sand... Didn't see him for about 9 days straight... Eventually showed up and now they are all ok with each other... He'll show up... Just don't stir or poke the sand... Will stress him out more.

How big is your tank?

According to his signature ...

Tank info: CAD Lights 42 gallon (30x18x18), 16 gallon sump, Skimz SN143 skimmer, VorTech MP10, AquaEuro USA 1/10 HP chiller, Tunze Osmolator Nano ATO, MaxSpect Razor LED

Yeah, 42 gallons. Should be fine for a small yellow wrasse. My clowns have never shown real aggression before. The hog is the tank jerk, and he couldn't have cared less. Hope I see it today.

You could try catching your clowns after the lights have been out for a couple of hours, and removing them for a few days. Also I would rearrange things if possible so the clowns don't recognize their territory and everything should be okay.

Got the female clown out in about 30 seconds. She's in time-out in my sump. Male (smaller) clown has no interest whatsoever.

How long should I leave the clown in the sump? Maybe over the weekend? There's no chance when I reintroduce her, the male might get mad - i.e. they de-pair from each other?
