Will I go through a cycle?

Ok here goes my question...

I am setting up my 75 gallon. Changing from a 40 gallon.

If I transfer all rock over and say 20-25 gallons of water from the 40, what kind of cycle am I looking at?

The rock is all over a year old, so should have little to no die off. What I don't want is to kill my livestock after the transfer.

I will have approximately 30 lbs of new live rock that has already been added to the tank on Wed.

yep probably will cycle.

If the new live rock is completely cured then you will likely not get much of a cycle at all. But It would be wise to put all the rock in and add an ammonia source and see how the new tank deals with the ammonia, before adding the livestock. It's better safe then sorry.
