I have a lunar wrasse, and I got a small emerald crap with a coral today, does anyone have any ideas about how the fish will react to the crab. Do you think the wrasse will pick on or kill the small emerald, or will the fish leave the crab alone???

anybody else have any input on a small emerald crab going into my 30g w/ a lunar wrasse?? how will the emerald do on keeping the hair alge under control?

It will definitely be eaten, more than likely within the first day. Lunar wrasses are invert eating machines. You are going to have some serious aggression issues with a lunar in that small of a tank. Try a phosphate reactor and increase water changes for the hair algae. Eliminate the algaes food source and it will go away.

i agree that is way too small of a tank for a lunar wrasse. the emerald crab would probably end up getting eaten at some point in time depending on the size of the wrasse. you could also try an urchin for the hair algea, but the best thing is find out why you have the algea in the first place. are you over feeding? how often do you change water? you getting enough flow in your tank? lights getting old? (just saw you changed them) is your tank over stocked?

there are alot of reasons. but once you find the source it will go away with time.
