Will My Angels Eat These Corals

Hello All,

I have a Majestic, Bluespotted, and a Maculosus in my 240. I currently have corals now, mostly easier SPS like monti and digatas, along with some GSP and a few mushrooms. They do not bother them as of now (knock on wood), but they have tore into my acans and my toadstool. I am looking into getting 2 BTA and a couple of featherdusters. I am asking if the BTAs and the featherdusters will be ok or will the Angels make them a snack? Thanks for the suggestions and advice.

You will be fine with the BTAs for sure. I have had member of all those family with many RBTA and zero issue. The feather duster I would not tried. That is just my 2 cents.

I want to warn you though on BTA, I have no idea how many corals you have but BTA are very known for wandering around the tank and multiplying like crazy. I started with one RBTA, have brought in over 15 to our LSF over five years and had to remove them to there own tank which currently has about 10 or more and I still missed one in my big tank. They can take over and depending on the clownfish you may want to host, you can loose a big part of your tank to this. Another option is a LTA which I believe do not have these issues. They just get big.

My tank raised white stripe Maculosus will eat everything he can swallow no coral is safe. I thought I had a chance being he was tank raised. NO-Picks everything to death. I would not risk a anemone. I had a Majestic for 16 years and was good with leather corals and anemones for about 2 years then just over a couple of days ripped everything to pieces. In another reef tank my Regal Angels have now started biting off the tips of a frog spawn. My favorite neon green Neptheia, Monti corals and zoas are also being munched on. Only corals they haven't bothered are the Hammers. I know some people are lucky with mixing angels and corals, not me. Not looking forward to trying to remove the Angels. :(
