Just rearranged my aquascape to try to keep the nem by itself and stop stinging my other corals. Just wondering
1. Can he move against the glass to another location or just stay on the rocks.
2. Are mushrooms ok being touched by a nem or will they die as well

thanks,
derek

BTAs can and will climb glass walls if they're unhappy. Assuming that you've got enough light and good water quality, etc., it is best to make sure that the rocks the anemone is on aren't touching the glass.

Even so, if it's unhappy enough, it can release its foot and float in the current seeking a better place. Unfortunately, that can end badly. The good news is that they don't usually do that unless things are so bad that it can't get what it needs where it is.

As to the mushrooms, the nem may kill them, or the mushrooms may irritate the anemone, causing it to move.

i know a lot of people build islands to keep them there but my island is about 4-5 inches from the glass. I'm hoping it will stay on the island and not reach for the glass to head over to the wall witht the rest of the corals.

They move everywhere. RBTA's will stay put for awhile, then all of a sudden, they get urge to wander. That's when I strike and move them out of the display and into a dedicated anemone tank.

I don't see how a BTA could reach 4 or 5 inches to move onto the glass. I think you're safe in that regard as long as your island is separated by sand from the rest of your live rock.

doesn't matter anyway. To answer my own question...Yes, within 24 hrs, actually less than 12. During the night it moved to the place where i didnt want it. Go figure.
