Recently Carlos (invertigator) gave me a frag of a beautiful bright pink soft coral that looks similar to a Colt. The frag was about 2 inches long and about 1 inch in diameter. There was a bit of the base included, so I glued that to a piece of rock. It was fine for a few days, then one morning it was just gone.
I've looked around all the nooks and crannies of the tank, and last night searched from the top down with a flashlight, and there's no sign of it.
The only thing I can figure is that when it broke loose it blew into the RBTA and gulp! The resident clownfish routinely feeds the anemone any large bits of food (krill, silverside, clam) I dispense. Do any of you have any experience with something like this? An anemone devouring a softie?
Exhibit A: Hungry RBTA, an "invertebrate of interest"? The clown's not talkin'.
