Will Stereonephthya work here?

I recently removed a table acro that wasn't super happy. It was getting brushed up against by a gorg, and wasn't getting as much light as it needed to really make it happy. In it's place, I'd like to get a colorful softie. I was thinking Stereonephthya? I don't want green, so Nepthea is out. And I don't want tan, so the usual suspects are out. You can see the spot as outlined in red in the picture

I run 250W DE 14K Phoenixes on Icecaps. It's a pretty high flow tank (2 vortechs/2 nanostreams on a 4' 150g). I have a HEAVY fish bioload, and dose a lot of vodka. My tank gets lots of fish food every day. Even though I vodka dose, I do not have an ULNS. I RARELY broadcast feed the tank with coral foods. I think Stereonephthya come in various degrees of autotrophism (is that a word? :D) Thoughts and comments appreciated!

A Stereonephthya should do very well in that location. I have two located at the top of my tank which is lit by a Tx5 (all Ati blubs). For flow I have 2 Vortechs on full blast and they sway like mad and seem to love it. I've had them for several months and I have seen some considerable growth.

Thank you for the information. The yellow and purple commonly seen on Liveaquaria is exactly what I was thinking. I've seen brighter colored one, but I worry as to how well those would do....

I ended up selling a large purple stereo back in the early summer due to an upgrade. I've always kicked myself for getting rid of it - BUT - I just picked up another one this evening at an excellent price. It's in QT now.

I think it would do well there too, but it's sensitive to the touch and will close up quickly. I would just try to position it so that your gorgs can't brush against it. When I had mine, it was under XM 10ks at the top of the rock. It loved the flow and I would blast the rock twice a week with a baster. It really enjoys eating the free floating gunk. Given your high bio-load, I think it would thrive and under Phoenix - it would have awesome color.

Thanks for the input! The search is on... I know there are tons of slight color variations, so I'm really looking to find one in person, not mail order, so I get that "perfect" one for me :)
