I've had tangs and wrasses together with no issues. Obviously, the bigger the tank the better.

btw, my wrasses (lunar) thought my snails were appetizers.

You should have no issues putting tangs and wrasses together. I have a potters, leopard and bluestar wrasse and 10 tangs together.............Good Luck

I wouldn't put a tang in anything less then a 75 gal. If you have a choice of tanks a 6 ft tank would be the best, they need the room to swim.

what if didn't do that much live rock?and did just species with the gold rims! would that suffice a 55g?

Are you doing just fish or a reef? Do you have a sump? If you got a small tang to start with you may be Okay, but as it get bigger you may have to get it out later on as it will out grow the tank.
