Will This stand hold up a salt water tank?

I have this tank stand from pet smart, that is for a 10/20G tank.

I am just not sure if it will hold my 20G salt water tank, frankly it's just a simple metal stand. I wasn't sure since Saltwater has the weight of sand and rock and such in addition to water. Let me know thank!

I used to have a stand very similar to this for a 30 tall, it held up great for years until I broke it by accident while moving.

HAHA So it's Don't TRUST IT, and I had one that worked fine we will see how the votes come in haha.

Seriously, just look at it! You put in 30 or so pounds of live rock and who knows how much sand, then corals, lights, skimmer, etc. Plus, saltwater is heavier than freshwater.

Maybe I'm way off but why tak the chance?

yeah i dont know if i would trust it, saltwater tanks get heavy quick, and that looks like it would snap!

Good point, I forgot that Saltwater weighs more. So, where can I buy a stand that isn't 100 bucks?

Yeah, that can pose a problem. Do you know anyone that's good at woodworking? If not, I'd watch eBay and garage sales.

Otherwise, you may need to just buy one.

I use one of those stands with a 20g tank for my q'tank. For that purpose it works great because it is easy to store. I would not use it for long term display purposes, but it makes for a good q'tank setup.
