Will This Work?

If you are asking if the sensor can be connected directly to the AC I believe the answer is no.

Not confident but I would think that if you clip the connector off the end of the wire and connect it to the breakout box you'd be fine. The AC3 expects an open/closed input. It does not say specifically that is what the sensor is but I would venture a guess that it is.

If the leak is saltwater it might work, depending on how much of a short is required to trip the ac3. If top off / fresh it won't.

Hope it works, just ordered 2 to daisy chain them. Why would salt vs. fresh make a difference if its moisture that trips it?

It certainly won't work with fresh water as it conductivity is too low. With salt water it may but is not going to be very reliable. The input impedance on the AquaController inputs is too large, and is deisgned to work with mechanical switches or relays.
I recommend using the waterbug WB-200 (an internet search will find many sources) instead as it has a relay output which can be connected to the digital inputs of the AquaController.

With the breakout box, you can just use the WB-200 sensors right? There is no need to buy their entire system?

The sensors alone are only a capacitive connection; it takes the (WB) controller to turn the capacitive contact into a reliable contact closure.

Guess Ill send em back then. Oh well, was worth a shot. At least Ill use the breakout box for ATO for the time being. What else can I connect to it?

You can connect anything that supplies dry-contact closures:

* Low water level in the sump to turn off main pumps (save from pump burn out)
* High water in sump - turn off ATO, maybe turn off return pump
* Low water in ATO - keep the bucket full
* High water in ATO - all full, turn off RO/DI
* High water in tank - turn off return pump (maybe a clogged overflow or broken syphon).
