Will wavebox work in this tank?

I've read that the top of a wavebox needs to be an inch out of the water, my new tank has a 4" brace around the top, it's 48x32x24.

your water level seems to be a little too high for a wavebox, esp when the water is moving back and forth.

Agree! You need at least 1.5" under the bracing. The wave itself would be more then 1/2". Have Doug cut the teeth on your overflow down another inch or so.

I can try and throttle back a bit and see if I can get low enough to try it. Another issue I'm concerned about is the effect at the overflow(back wall).
You think in 4", it would be over half an inch?
I bought the wavebox and 3 6100s from other hobbyists while I was planning this set up, wasn't sure what would be the best way to go. I hope to use the wavebox because it seems much less of an intrusion in the tank.
Anyone using a wavysea for a stream that's posted about it?

Not trying hijack but I'm building a tank for my parents with similar dimensions (60x36x24) and been thinking about adding a wavebox but externally... They don't want to see anything in their tank (it will be inwall) and wonding if anyone see's any issues going with something like this?

It would be just like an external overflow box, but drilled for the wavebox port lower in the tank instead of teeth at the top... Can this be done?

in a 4 feet tank you can get the wave to be about 1.5 inches. raynist actually got his to reach 3 inches...
