Will Zoo's and/or Paly's grow on the glass of a barebottom tank?

I am new to the hobby and am currently setting up a 45g bb tank and would love some Zoa/Paly on the bottom. Will they grow directly on the glass or will I have to provide another substrate? What kind of substrate would do well in a bb tank to grow these?

If u placed a frag on the bottom it will eventually grow onto the glass. Look for disks with flat bottoms and maybe a little frag glue to keep it down in one spot. It might be easier to see if you could layer them glass in front then higher up on a few disks as u move back.. Check out Neal's zoa/sps thread for what I mean.

Yes, they will attach to the glass.
