I have a little issue I need your help on....The 90 G build I am doing has gotten a bit bigger than I had anticipated and will not fit like I would like it to where it was originally going. SO I am looking for new places now...The best one so far is directly in front of a window in my office. The window is on the North side of the house and only gets a little of the evening sun as there is a river birch tree, and a maple tree that provide a good deal of shade on the window. I also have a pair of wood blinds over the window that would remain closed. The back of the tank will be painted (preferably black but could do blue if it would help) so that would cut down on direct sun LIGHT getting in the tank but may still get some heat but not much with the blinds shut and the shade trees out front... Bottom line is what do you guys think of putting a tank there?????

if, you dont want sun light in the tank, and if your going to put a painted side to the window, paint the back white.

blue and black will gather heat, white will reflect the sunlight best.

only the topmost layer needs to be white...

thanks for the input...any other thoughts if not this is where it's going....this also happens to be on the load bearing wall so this will help with the weight also....

The biggest factor for my tank temperatures are the room temperature - cold is never an issue and with a 90g likely not for you either. As long as the window is in good condition with a blind, you should be OK.
