Wobbly stand

Ok so it's a wooden stand that was prebuilt I got from my lfs. It's sitting on a piece of 3/4 inch pressure treated plywood on top of newly laid carpet. The tank and stand are leveled by shims placed between the carpet and plywood. Only problem is the tank is wobbly if pushed from the front. I think I identified the culprit as the stand, there is a door on the right side and it just doesn't seem like there is much support on that side.

I was thinking of placing two pieces of plyboard over that door. One piece directly over the door and secure to the stand and one piece on top of that that will secure to the top and bottom of Stand lips. Hope that makes sense. Do you think this will make it more structurally sound?

Stop pushing it from the front... (just be careful) ;) GL.

FWIW, my old 50 gallon freshwater tank would sway back and forth, left to right every time I would stir up the gravel during a water change. After 25 years or so, no problem.

I have an 8 year old that likes to watch the tank from the front and I want to make it as sturdy as possible.

If the stand has any felx or looseness to it that is allow the tank to wobble, I would consider it to be unsafe and replace it. If the entire assembly is moving (tank and stand together), it is not shimmed properly. That, too, needs to be corrected, probably by adding more shims.

I screwed a piece of 3/4 inch plywood over the door and it increased the sturdiness a lot. Still a slight wobble if I push pretty hard on the tank. I will be anchoring the plywood that the stand sits on to my floor boards.
