Woke up to a dead clown

Before i went to bed last night, i noticed my male osc. clown was breathing sort of heavy, taking big gulps rather then just normal breathing. My female is fine, and my other fish (purple pseudochromis, midnight angel and rigilius goby) are all fine and breathing normal and acting as they do.

My tanks parameters are stable- ammonia-0, ph-8.2, nitrite-0 and nitrate less then .5.

My main question is, what are the chances of being able to add another clown now to the tank successfully? Will i have an aggression problem from the female towards it?

Heavy breathing could be low oxygen levels. Oxygen is brought in from a gas exchange at the surface and good steady water flow helps increase this. Also no lid on the tank help bring in fresh air.
