Well after putting on the lights I see that a colony of zoanthids has white patches all over it and over 20+ zoanthids are missing from one section? These have been in my tank for over 4 months and have been doing great. All my water par. are good. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can get that any any LFS under medications

so is there any other way to get rid of this stuff? Its to late for LFS so I guess I will have to wait it out. Will lugols iodine and fresh water do anything?

Thanks

Ok, did more research. I need Furan 2 and some ro water. Thanks everyone for the article.

Would this treatment hurt any other corals in my tank? I will be doing the treatment in buckets but will end up putting them back into my system.

I had found out what zoa pox was a little too late for my zoos but had some success with fresh water\lugols in that it removed any encroaching algae while the pox was going on...

But the next time I see something like this happens its a furan 2 dip for them! (or however they did it in the pox article, i forget now)

Mine are slowly coming back but I lost a nice frag i had of some pinks with green mouths that irks me.

Good luck on recovering your zoos!!!

I will be picking up furan 2 in just a little bit. I have the dipping process set up and ready to go. I looked last night and its on about 5 diff. colonies, but its only affecting one right now. Wish me luck, I am going in to the zoa tox battle.

ps- is zoa pox contagious to other zoanthids or other corals??

Thanks

Ok, on my mission to find furan 2 I also found some nice pink zoanthids :D that have a nice sized montipora growing on the side... If I do a freshwater dip with iodine, will that kill the montipora? If I have to do the furan 2 dip on that will it kill the monti?

Please help me out here. I have them floating as we speak.

Thanks
