I'm really enjoying the 300w titanium heater I purchased from you guys the other week- or I should say, my tank is, after limping along with glass heaters all these years.

I'm somewhat concerned that a fair amount of scale buildup is forming on the heater tube in a short period. I've been dosing small amunts of the alkalinity part from b-ionic to help correct a calcium spike- the heater is in my sump, near the intake for my return pump, where i dump the additive.

Common? Nothing to worry about?

Hi,

I don't think a little build up will cause a problem, but if it gets real crusty, you might want to take it out and clean it with some vinager to remove the calcium deposits.
