Sometimes I don't see my shrimp for days and some of them even longer. They are nocturnal. But that pics looks like what happens when mine molt. It almost always somehow ends up in a frogspawn, torch, or anemone.

I'm hoping that's what happened....
This is the first shrimp we've had in years due to our huge Naso eating them. But he's moved on to a 1000 gal tank. So I was kinda ticked when I saw this first thing this morning.
The shrimp usually comes out of hiding when we feed the fish, hopefully he shows up at dinner time.

Have you had a shrimp molt before? I remember my first time. I was all sad that morning that it died. Then I saw it about 2 hours later and was completely baffled. LOL

Look for your shrimp after the lights go out with a flashlight (note that the direct light from a flashlight will spook them and they'll go hide). Maybe drop a couple of pellets in there. My shrimp love those damn pellets for some reason.

Nope, after 12 years of reef keeping this is the first time we've had one molt. I looked for it last night, couldn't find it but my wife snapped this pic just after the actinics came on.

Wow. That's a long time without having a molt!

Good to see he's doing fine. Typically just before they molt, they go into hiding for a few days and won't even come out for food.
