Work in progress nps nano

My nps has been pretty neglected and shuffled around the past couple years. I decided last year to finally set up a tank just for them again and finally got started in April after the usual delays and issues.

The sun corals colonies are new, one this week, the other a few months but took a bad turn, (my fault) feeding again now which is good. Tube nem is brand new also and I added some ornamental algae behind the rhizo to hopefully fill in, too dangerous to put anything else there. Anyways, onto the pics!

It's a 17 gallon, tank and stand by artfully acrylic, with a 10 gallon tank below that's got softies mostly. Stock pump so far, kind of noisy but does the job and a tunze 9004 that's not really doing much yet, trying to find it's happy spot. Nanobox led over both tanks. Pretty simple setup.

Balanos in the previous setup-I made sure to hide them underneath trying to ensure their happiness but it sucks not being able to see them as well now. I had another lighter colony but traded it to a friend since they grow so fast, I've fragged both colonies a few times already. But then got a new free head in an order awhile back, same with the black sun coral frags in real bad shape. Gee thanks lol. Only one of those will make it but the other is last ditching producing tiny polyps now that I have a little hope for.

Tank pre water

Love it. How big is your rhizo? It looks huge. Mine has a skeleton about 2" or so across and expands slightly over 4" I'd guess but that looks nothing compared to yours.

It's a monster, probably about 4" skeleton and stretches out to double that easily and so long on the tentacles. I had a smaller one about half the size but lost it in a heatwave.

I thought my rhizo was impressive but 4" skeleton is crazy, so very envious. Did you buy it big or has it grown? Mine hasn't grown too much in the few years I have had it but I don't feed it enough I know. Can I ask your feeding schedule please.

I'm not really sure if it's gotten any bigger, think it was pretty much this size and I try to feed the tank daily although I offer small foods mostly.

Mine gets less frequent larger meals and whatever it can catch. Maybe I'll try feeding a little less but more often and see if that changes growth.
