working with PVC

Thats a John Guess shut-off valve fitting using 1/4" tubing on both ends...see if you can find a similar one with threads on one end and you 'could" in theory drill and tap the PCV pipe (1/4" pipe thread) and then screw it in. To make it permanent, then use the PVC primer and cement on the threads.

I'll look for it at the Lowe's next time I go. In the mean time is there any other good solutions beside threading the pipe?

MR PALM BEACH - Super Glue (gel) or you might be able to bond It together with some PVC cement.
----PVC cement didn't work :( I guess ill just try again :)

PVC glue should work if it was the correct glue and allowed to dry/cure for 24 hours

threading should also work...make sure to use the teflon tape

ive used the super glue...the only way to get it off is to break the pipe

Could I use aquarium safe sealant or still better to use glue? Would it be any easier to simply attach the 1/4 inch vynil tubing strait into the PVC(?) first and then attach the valve onto the little inch or so of tubing in the pipe?

you could always drill the hole JUST big enough to tightly fit the tube through it and seal with silicone on the inside and the outside.

There is a special fitting that will allow you to connect it directly. Here is a photo of it on my 1 1/2" pvc pipe:

I can't remember where I bought it, maybe Home Depot or Lowes. There are actually two pieces, one is a reducer piece and the other is the fitting.

Sorry, it was dark and cold outside last night and I thought that a bad photo would be better than none! Hopefully, the op can see that there is an adapter fitting out there.

Would it be alright if I simply used a 1/4 in pvc male adapter? One side has the 1/4 in for the tubing and the other side is threaded for 1 in. Can I just drill a hole in the 4in PVC pipe, use teflon tap and just screw the adapter right into the pipe? ?

I would buy reducer bushings for the 4" pipe rather than drill it, as then you are sure it won't get disconnected.

Take a sample piece of the pipe and the fitting to Lowes or Home Depot and take your time....try to find the one guy that is employed there who can actually comprehend that you really do have a question and that person might be able to help put you on the parts you need....also, keep your eyes open while the sales person leads you all around the store....YOU will probably see what you need eventually....(is my love for these places obvious????)
