In honor of World Ocean Day, which is June 8th, I will be holding a Cleanup For the Reefs beach walk and cleanup event in Cocoa Beach and Titusville (at the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge) on Saturday, June 9th, in Central Florida.
We will hold the cleanups at 10am in Cocoa Beach and 1pm on the Refuge in Titusville. I will provide soda, water, light snacks, trash bags and plastic gloves for participants.
You are welcome to bring your family but you must email me in order to signup to participate! In your email, please include the number of people you expect to bring with you.
Prior to both events we plan to present a short interpretive talk on the Florida coastal system, sea turtle biology, and the effects of marine debris in the environment.
Come and spend an hour or two making a difference for the health of our oceans and especially the Florida coasts.
