Worm on Xenia someone please help!

My Xenia hasn't been looking so good. And I believe I found the culprit. I've been watching it closely and I have found a tiny white worm that is on it. Could someone please help me and tell me what it is and how to get rid of it. It's on my main tank. Do I have to worry about it affecting my green polyps and leather? I couldn't get a great pic and it wouldn't let me upload more than one. But you can kind of see a white string going up one of the limbs of the Xenia.

Here is another pic. I pulled the Xenia out of the main tank and pull the worm off with tweezers. Soo nasty!

Probably the best thing you can do is to dip it in Coral RX or better yet look up Bayer dipping corals. Bayer is the best. Don't think I spelled Bayer right. You can also remove them as you already have with the tweezers. Make sure you look all over the coral and frag plug for eggs and remove them.

Pull it out, dip it in Coral RX or any coral dip you might have and do an inspection

The Bayer I'm talking about is an insecticide you can get at any Home improvement sore or hardware store in the gardening section. There are many threads on it here just do a search for it.

I used the bayer. I found a post where someone did 10ml per 4 oz. I did 2 cups and 5ml. It started to turn black and actually come apart. I guess I used to much

lol yeah just a lil bit. I'm not sure how my green polyps or leather will hold up. I did add them back to main tank after rinsing them good. My shrimp didn't make it. How can i make sure to get the rest of the chemical out of the tank?

Add a bag of carbon to your tank somewhere that it can get lots of flow through it. I put mine in the overflow box or if you have a HOB filter you can put it in there. I would also do a fairly large WC before you add the carbon to help reduce the chemicals from the water even further. But all said if you did a good rinse you shouldn't have any problems.
