Wormfish care?

Anyone know much about the Gunnelichthys curiosus, or the other wormfish species?

They are a type of dartfish, not picky about foods, are more likely to bury in the sand than jump, but almost always end up through the teeth of the overflow. Very peaceful and quite hardy, but need peaceful tankmates and does best in pairs.

Hmm. I've always read that they are very cryptic and difficult to keep.

I have had them on 3 seperate occassions, while true that they can be cryptic, they are pretty hardy, just small. And in every case it was only a matter of time before they ended up in the overflow, they were impossible to catch out of the sump, but they each lived months in the sump. I would see them swimming around but was helpless to get them back to the display.

You have a lot of experience with many different species. Do you happen to work at a public aquarium or LFS, or is this just all from your personal tank(s)?

I do maintainance 4 days a week, at a LFS. 1 day, but keep many of these species in my personal tanks. The experiences with the wormfish is frm my own personal tanks.

I have a Biocube, and it has some slots that let small things into it sometimes. Do you think putting something over the slots would keep one out?
Can anyone suggest where to obtain a pair of wormfish?
Will they eat frozen foods?

In a biocube I have used a sponge to stop things from going through, but clean frequently so it doesn't cause tank to overflow.

Wormfish will eat frozen.

Diver's den will occassionally get one, but I would probably recommend going through your LFS to get a pr, they are infrequently available.

What a neat fish. Kinda like a swimming garden eel. And since my reef pond has no overflow, it's even better.

My problem is usually jumpers, but this wormfish seems to go down instead of up.
