Worms

You can feed too much, which can lead to too many b-worms, and they can be kind of unsightly but not much of a problem. The problem is the overfeeding and the effect on overall tank conditions. The picture looks like perhaps a vermetid snail, which is common but can reach pest proportions, which can be another consequence of overfeeding.

Thanks for the input, I was given the whole setup a couple weeks ago and moved it to my house. Nitrates are through the roof. Trying to. Ring them Dow with water changes and starving.

Typically an excessive amount of worms coincides with an excessive amount of food/poop,etc.... That will also show up as a nitrate problem...water changes and a good siphon cleaning/turkey baster blowing out the rocks is a good way to solve that...It may take quite a bit of work to make up for a while of neglect..
