Worried about puffy

Puffy is not quite himself I noticed yesterday. He is not hanging in his favorite place by the overflow box. He is not swimming back and forth like he usually does, and he is not eating very well. Also I noticed that he is holding his right pectoral fin in close to his body he may have hurt it somehow. Other than that he looks normal. I do know that the person that had him before me had him for four years and kept him on flake food. He was only four inches long! I started feeding him a proper diet of shrimp for two years and now he is longer than my overflow box. I want to say that he might be getting old. I looked up their life span and all I really found was 5 or more years. Ok what is or more? I know that he is at least six years old and who knows how old he was when he was at the store. These things don't come with birth certificates, unless you get some nemo's from chuggy. haha Let me know what yo think.
Thanks,
Ernie

I think your Puffy has arthritis from old age. Best thing to do for that guy is throw him on a frying pan and know that he died for a good cause ;). Best of luck with your little Puffy hehehe.

only from your country ya eat them fish

Akron, Ohio .... What country is that? ;)

Check to see if he has got lockjaw and cant physically eat I have heard of this before. Might be worth some research

Did I rub someone the wrong way :). We have Peta or pita in this club? It was a joke relax, I do throw my fish down the trash every now and again if they don't seem healthy or I am just tired of them ;). Or should I have a proper burial for them or something like that???

:) thanks Barry. Hey I am going to stop this before it gets out of control. My comments are just made to be funny, I forgot how sensitive most of you guys are about your pets. I apologize if my comments offended anyone out there, I meant no harm by it.

Hey guys, I did not mean to start a fight or any thing. Just wanted to see if any one had any ideas as to what I could do for him pre-mortom. And when he does go, I'm going to have him stuffed post-mortum. He brings a lot to the ambiance of the tank. And yes I have been told that him and stony are rather tasty. Clevebill thanks for the pm. Puffy is looking a little better today. I hand fed him last nite and he seems to be more active today and trying to move his injured fin a little. It looks a little ragged from someone being a butt head I think. I'll check out the lock jaw because I used to not be able to keep any margarita snails. I haven't seen him eat any lately. Also, he did not shred the shrimp like he should.

Thanks, Ernie

Sometimes fish freak out during the night or when bookng around the tank and injure themselves....in a couple days they are back to normal...
I hope nothing happens to him...you might have to change your nick if he passes....

Glad to hear hes looking better, good luck and Vu was just trying to add some humor. Believe it or not he is a fish lover.

I know, he would not be in the club unless... he was in it for for the sushi!!!!! " Fish are friends not food". Unless your a walleye.

I couldn't have said it any better myself. And I hate sushi.
Shaq. The Big Walleye.
Go Cavs....please win us something already.
Enough said.

I gave up on pro sports a while back when they became greedy whiners and forgot about the game. But Cleveland needs this to carry on the momentom from last season, Lebron is a good sportsman and this trade is a good start. It will hopefully create a lot of revenue for the town. Just because I gave up on them does not mean that I dislike or hate any of them. I just have more time for my fish.

Everytime I say that.....my wife calls me psycho.

Puffy is making a 180 turn around from having his head in the rocks for two weeks. Swimming more but is a little worse for the ware. He'll be alright I think. Keep everyone updated as he recooperates.
