yes it would since they are low light clams tht ofte go overseen because they are not as spectacular as the maximas and croceas, although they are goreous in their own right.
It says the maximum size is 18 inches and I personally had one that was 6 inches and growing. It wasn't that quick growing, at least for me, so you could probably keep a small one for years in a 29 before he needed an upgrade.
Does anyone here keep Hippopus clams? If so, I'd like to see some pictures. I have 130 watts of light and this clam would be the only one I could get until I get mhs and t-5s.
Wow....I forgot they get that big...I stand corrected. I've seen huge squamosas, derasas, etc. but never a hippo over a couple of inches...forgot they can get that big
