Would a skimmer upgrade do anything for me?

I am running a skimz sn143 on a 120g with 13 relatively small fish. The skimmer pulls a lot of dark skim and will fill the cup up really fast. I'd say at the. Dry least a full cup every 4-5days. I don't have detachable nitrates but the skimmer is undersized for my tank and how much I feed.

So I'm wondering if I upgraded to a oversized skimmer would I actually see any beneimfits?

Seems my skimmer is "keeping up" but it fills up so quickly it seems as if something larger would possibly pull more out quicker and settle down to where it wasn't filling the cup up so often.

So your skimmer is working perfectly and you're concerned it's not working as perfectly as it could? lol.

Sounds like it's perfect.

I have had better results tuned as you describe. When I went up on skimmer size I could see no improvement in the tank and the oversized skimmer seemed harder to keep in tune. How new is the tank and live rock?

the tank is only a few months old but the rock came from a tank that's been established for over 15 years that I broke down.

Oversized skimmers generally do not produce constantly but sporadically.
They skim the load & then go into like an idle mode where nothing happens until the load builds up again & the cycle repeats itself.

The reason for the question is I find skimmer production is higher for a few months after a new tank is set up. Seems at its peak if the live rock is having some die off. Might give the system a little more time to settle down.
