Would appreciate some feedback...

I appreciate the feedback. Originally i was leaning towards the two piles separated and this is just kind of what happened. I think I am going to give the 2 piles a try today and see what it looks like.

So i tried the 2 piles and wasn't completely satisfied, thought there should be more, so I added a 3rd.....

I like that significantly more than the rock wall. I might stagger the heights and positions front to back a bit, but I think its a big improvement.

Ok guys, so I am currently using a tunze wave box and my return jet for circulation/current in my tank. The wave box is on the left pointed towards the right, and the return jet is pointed towards the right. The issue I am having is with this center overflow and getting good circulation throughout the tank.

I am starting to think purchasing this wave box might not have been a good idea. If I place the wave box in the corner, the current bounces off the center overflow and doesn't make waves, or even disrupts the water.

If I place the wave box in the front, I have a big box right in front of the tank, and it really doesn't circulate behind the rocks.

Do you think I should try and sell this wavebox and get two power heads and point them towards the center of the tank so that they collide?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The only thing is I didn't see a center overflow on those tanks.

It's not about the center overflow, it's about placement, and more importantly timing and depth. When you adjust it, adjust the dial in tiny increments, and give it 20-30 seconds between adjustments to allow the water current to adjust.

Try mounting it in the left rear corner, on the rear pane of the glass, with the flow pointing forward.
Then adjust in small increments.... and see if you can get it going. Sometimes it's difficult seeing the motion of the water, without wavy corals. If you have crabs/snails or any fish in there yet, i'd say dump some small pellet or flake food in the water to help you visualize the flow.

I moved the wave box almost to the middle. It seems to be working much better but I am worried the flow coming out of the wave box will be almost directly on those rocks in the middle, and anything on those rocks might be too much direct flow

Post up a picture of the box in the tank and rocks?

It should be fine, since it's short bursts, just make sure the rock doesn't move and tetter-totter ... You don't want it to tumble down. 2 part epoxy in stick may be needed to bond the rocks together and keep from sliding. Especially once corals are on, and snails/crabs/fish are in.

Here are some pictures of the tank and what I have put in it so far. Everything seems happy so far.
