Would like to add

I don't think you'll get them to eat anything except the "sea whip" gorgonians. That's a plus, if you have them available and don't mind buying them, since they aren't likely to eat anything else in your tank.

Good Luck,

Don

Is it the same as the purple sea plume? How about the purple sea whip or the Golden sea rod? How come some places say that the need to be inside of a rock?

By "inside of a rock" I'm assuming you mean the sea fans/gorgonians? This may have been suggested because most are non photosynthetic, meaning they need no light to grow do to a lack of symbiotic algae which many coral species posses. So by placing them in a cave or dark area in a tank prevents them from growing nasty algae on their branches eventually killing them. Flamingo tongues are beautiful Caribbean critters, but I would highly advise you not to attempt to keep one, because the chances for survival are slim to none. Not to mention expensive and frustrating due to the acquisition of the gorgonians.

I have seen them in the wild on and presumably preying on the Purple Sea Plume, and the big Carribean Purple Sea Fans, and even on those regular old Yellow Sea Whip gorgonians that are all over.
